Create a chic macramé pet collar for your fur baby

Macramé is an artistic form of textile making where chord is knotted together into intricate and tasteful designs. Macramé can use a variety of materials such as cotton, twine, leather and hemp, and can be used to create small scale items such as jewelry or large items like plant holders or wall hangings. Macramé first became wildly popular in teh 70s but has since resurfaced and become the center of trendy home décor.

This 3 hour workshop will teach you the basics of macramé. The six most common types of macramé knots are:

  • Reverse Larkshead Knot
  • Half Knot
  • Square Knot
  • Verticale Half Hitch
  • Diagonal Half Hitch
  • The classic multiple strand Braid
This workshop will focus on a five strand braid, so you can wrap your head around these knots, so your pet collar will be both decorate and sturdy. At the end of the 3 hours, you will leave the class with a chic pet collar that you and your pet will love.

Workshop Instructor: Angela Dill

Angela Dill is a local artist on the Gold Coast who graduated with an Advanced diploma of Fashion Design and Merchandising from the Australian Institute of Creative Design. Since then, Angela has worked as a textile designer for local fashion designers and has recently launched her own line of macramé as well as polymer clay earrings.
